Well, I can say this looks incredibly professional. It’s almost as if it’s a Nintendo conspiracy with Itoi pulling the strings in the background while Reggie is at the beach telling people MOTHER 3 won’t come to America still…
Or not. But I must say, this project has my full support and I cannot wait for its release. Having just recently gotten enthralled into the MOTHER series and playing them all, I’ve been anxiously awaiting any news on a new one/localization. This’ll be one exciting ride.
Say, is there any word on a “percent done” kinda thing? Also, Itoi mentioned wanting to play the next MOTHER, has he been informed of this?

Wow, thanks for the praise. It’d be nice if we had Itoi working above us here. We have alot of questions that we’d like the answers to.
To answer your question, we’re not entirely sure if Itoi’s aware of our project yet. But in all reality, it’s unlikely. For the moment we’re worrying about completing the game, and dont have any professional aspirations to get it translated and sent to Itoi, though there is talk around the office…

well i guess i have been helping (somewhat), with posting videos that show screenshots of the game. However, i was wondering if i could be the guy in the staff who helps make youtube videos based on the game. (PRETTY PLZ!

We appreciate your interest in Mother 4, but at this point in time we have all of our video-based media planned and accounted for. the videos you posted on youtube were a delightful surprise to us and we appreciate the display. Do not be discouraged to continue as a fan, but unfortunately we’ve already gotten everything under control. Again, thank you very much, and do not be discouraged.

Is this just for the computer or can I get it on a Nintendo system?

This is just for the computer. And with the way its written, a port is not likely, as everything would need to be rebuilt from scratch.
(Also note that the game is in no way official, and is only fan-made.)

I’d say a 2010 release is much more likely.

2 questions:
Will a demo ever be released?
Will we need an emulator to play this?

I choose to overlook the first question, but Mother 4 is being made entirely from GML (Game maker language), and will be released as an EXE (Sorry, mac users), which means that you won’t need anything besides what we provide.

Will there be features consistent to the past games such as
Naming your characters, friends, (pet), favorites, etc.
and the ‘Don’t Care feature’?

Yes of course! You’ll be able to name your characters (etcetera) whatever you please. Or use the Don’t Care function.

Actually I found the blogs so I’m up to date. However, I wanna know if Porky/Pokey will have a role in this game because I’ve had a few ideas for a game in my mind after playing Mother 2&3 consecutively and reading Itoi’s interview. So I’d figure I have to wait anyway. I might have a few Ideas for a Mother 5 (if only) so once again, keep up the good work and cheers!

Storyline questions are when things get sensitive, and when we start calling things “Classified”. We accept all questions and answer to the best of our ability, but that one’s a bit much. Feel free to ask anything that comes to mind.

Man, I’ve always hated that program because I think it’s not good at all for large-scale projects at all.
